Parker's milestone

It has been forever since I have written and I cannot wait to sit down and really review the past couple of weeks - but I had to write about the latest milestone in my little boy's life - he has a loose tooth!! It looks like we are on the road to loosing his first tooth! Like I said in my last post, and still have yet to do, I hope to post pictures soon - but 'til next time I hope all is well with you!

Another big milestone...

Well, today was Parker's first day of kindergarten and he did great! He really seemed to enjoy it. He was most excited about remembering his lunch number. And he also is able to finally tie his shoes! (and he said, Mommy taught me to do it!). He said the best part of the day was playing with Avery, who is a little girl in his class who went to preschool with him. He and Avery are also at the same table in their classroom. He also said that they jumped rope and played with hoola-hoops at PE. It was a good first day of kindergarten. I just pray that it continues! Once I download my pictures from my camera, I will post first day of kindergarten pictures!

Has anyone seen Dane's ring????

Well, we have lost Dane's wedding ring. More like, I lost Dane's wedding ring. :( We always take our rings off when we are at home and put them on our ring holder on the bathroom counter. On Saturday, Dane and Parker ran to the store really quick and Dane did not put it on. He called me to say that he was coming home to get Mollie and I to go to run other errands together. When I got dressed and I put on my ring, I noticed that his was on the ring holder and I put it on my index finger to take it to him. Needless to say, 2 hours later when we got home, I remembered that I had his ring on my finger, but I never gave it to him and of course the ring was definately not on my finger anymore. We looked EVERYWHERE!! We even put on gloves and went through the trash with no luck. We are very, very sad and I feel sooooo bad about it. We ask each other on a daily basis if either one of us has found it. We are just hoping that it will show up somewhere - but where we have no idea because we have truly looked everywhere. Dane even went back to all the places where we ran errands and looked with no luck. So if you see Dane's ring, please let us know - it is engraved on the inside with a message and our wedding date. Big reward is offered for the one who can find it!!

Bitter sweet

Well, I cannot believe it - Parker starts kindergarten tomorrow morning. His last day at the CDRC was Wednesday, July 28 - and now he will be in "Big Boy School," as he calls it. We met his teacher today. I am excited for him but yet very sad at the same time. I cannot believe that he is starting kindergarten!! It feels like just yesterday he was Mollie's age. Time really does go by fast. I have really been praying for Parker and his kindergarten teacher - that he will make good friends, show good behavior and most of all be sweet to everyone. As much as I want Parker to be smart (the teacher in me has been working on reading, writing and math before kindergarten), I most of all want him to show the fruits of the spirit to everyone. I want him to be sweet, respectful and kind to everyone most of all.
Since I have to be at work and ready for my students tomorrow, Dane and Mollie will be taking Parker to his first day of school. As much as I want to be there, I know that I would be a basket case if I had to drop him off. Dane, on the other hand, will hold it together. The school is even having a Boo-hoo Breakfast for all the kindergarten parents to help them adjust too. If you are reading this, I would love all the prayers possible for my sweet little boy (and Dane and I) as he starts kindergarten. I will be posting pictures soon!

Growing Up, Part 2

Well today it is official - my baby is growing up. Even though she has been sleeping in her big girl bed for a little while, today I finally took down the crib this morning. There is something about taking down the crib that makes me a little sad. It means that I do not have a baby anymore - but a little girl. I think that it might be the last time that we have a crib up in our house (but only God can change that if He wanted to add a surprise to our family-and it sure would be a surprise). So now Mollie's room is without a crib.

I can also tell that she is just growing so much. She is only 2.5 years old and wearing 3T stuff and some of that is getting short and a little small. I cannot believe how much she is growing, mainly because Parker (who is almust 6) still has 2 pair of shorts that are 24 months that he can still wear! (But they are getting small - I have come to question the actual sizing of those shorts too!)

And Parker is starting kindergarten Aug. 10. I cannot believe that my sweet boy will be in "big boy school" soon. He is also getting to the point that he is getting too big for me to carry or pick up (not that he wants me to do this at all - but it is something about being able to pick up and hold your babies). But at least we will always be able to hug.

As I write about these changes, I think about something that someone once said - "Enjoy each time period that your child is in. Don't wish it away nor wish it back. Just enjoy where they are now." So I am going to try to do that and just enjoy this time in our lives watching my little kiddos go into a different time period in their life.

Growing Up...

Well, last night Mollie slept in her big girl bed for the 1st time! She did great and got up at her normal time. She was ready for her big girl bed probably a lot earlier than last night, but I was not. I just cannot believe that we are about to take down her crib and our baby is growing up. I just find myself wanting to hold on to my baby a little longer since she is planned to be our last one.
We are also working on potty-training. But I am not in a hurry with that either like we did with Parker. Again, just trying to hold on to the baby stage a little longer. However, it will be nice not to have to buy diapers soon.

A month long update....

I cannot believe that it has been a month since I have blogged! I am really trying to keep my blog up-to-date, but it is just not working. Therefore, it is more realistic for me to say that I might update it once a month. With that as my goal, I might be able to accomplish it. So here is a quick list of the things that have occurred the last month.

(1) Beach trip for our anniversary (our 9th anniversary) and Mother's Day at my parent's beach condo in Perdido Key, FL. (Got my Dad's boat out for the first time and Mollie was swimming in the pool by herself (with the aid of a floaty-bathing suit).

(2) Baseball, baseball, and more baseball (The season is over, but we have the amazing privilege of continuing to play, as Parker was selected to play on the All-Star Team.)

(3) Baseball camp for Parker and my nephew, Carter.

(4) SCHOOL IS OUT!! YEAH for summer!! (And wishing the best to all the seniors who graduated!)

(5) A lot of playing on our water-slide

(6) Our church is moving to a new location since we are growing so much!! :) What a blessing!!!

(7) Started a new Bible Study - Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World - LOVE IT and most of all love the girls who are in the study with me!

(8) Made my to-do list for the summer (which is 2 pages long!)

And here are some pictures from the last month - Enjoy! :)

Parker and his cousin, Carter, at baseball camp at TCHS.

Davis, Parker, Hayden and Carter after baseball camp - they were COVERED in mud! The coaches had the kids diving for pop-fly balls. They loved it! Instead of hosing them down with water - we just let them wash off all the mud on the water slide!

Parker, Mollie and Dane out on the water slide for Memorial Day weekend.

And we had a quick picnic outside as well.

Fun times with the baseball team - even Mollie made some great friends too!

Preschool graduation - "Hello World"

Well, yesterday was Parker's pre-school graduation. I cannot believe that he will be going to kindergarten in August. Even though he graduated yesterday, he still will be going to school there until July. Here are some fun pictures from the graduation.

Some Birthday Pictures

A big birthday huge from Mollie to Uncle Deron. Mollie loves her Uncle Deron!

Mollie did a great job blowing out her candles!

Everyone was singing Happy Birthday to the Birthday Girl!

Mollie's birthday cake - Wow! Didn't I do a great job!!??? (I confess now...Publix did a great job!)

Time to open the presents!

Fun Birthday and Snow Pictures!

Parker "sledding" down our hill in a laundry basket covered in a garbage bag!

We had a great time in the snow - however, Mollie was not overly excited about being cold and wet. However, Dane and Parker played out in the snow all afternoon long throwing snowballs at each other!

The start of many snowball fights between Parker and Dane.

Even the trucks got some time in the snow!

Nana and Papa celebrating Mollie's birthday in Ft. Walton.

Snow on Mollie's Birthday!

How exciting that Mollie got snow on her 2nd birthday!! We were excited because we all got to stay home and have the entire day to celebrate with her! We had a great time playing in the snow - some fun pictures below. Then we had Aunt Carrie, Uncle Deron, Carter and Cooper over for her birthday dinner. We had pizza and chicken fingers (as you can tell in the pictures, Mollie LOVES pizza - as it is all over her face!). Mollie ate 2 entire pieces of pizza! And then we had cake. Mimi and Pops were goign to be there too, but we did not want them driving in the snow over here. Therefore, we will celebrate her birthday again on Sunday afternoon with Mimi and Pops.
Last weekend, Dane took the kids to his parents house while I was at a conference out of town. They also celebrated Mollie's birthday there too. Nana made her a cake and she and Parker decorated it. It was so cute!
I hope you enjoy some of the fun pictures from the last couple of months - and hopefully, I will become a better blogger!
(For some reason, I could only post 5 pictures here, so I will do another post with some more pictures of snow and her birthday!)

Mollie's birthday cake that Nana make and that she and Parker decorated!

Parker and Carter at the Alabama basketball game - a fun family outing!

A fun Saturday morning with Parker and Mollie watching Sprout on their nap mats.

Mimi and Pops Christmas gift to Parker was a "Fathead" of him in his karate uniform. It sticks to his wall in his room and is very easily removable. It is really neat and Mollie loves it too!
